pixDIF available at Download.com

October 17th, 2008 . by polygeek

My AIR – pixDIF – for helping developers and designers measure pixel distances on their screen, and check for differences between their design comps and implementations is now available at Download.com.  You can read more about it and see a short video overview of the app here.

Get it from CNET Download.com!

Addendum

pixDIF 100% cleanSoftpedia.com added pixDIF to their library – I didn’t even ask them to. And they also gave pixDIF a 100% clean rating.

If something here has proved valuable to you then feel free to drop a couple of bucks in the tip-jar.

Good job. let me suggest some enhancements (or maybe you can show me they’re there already):
–have any two open windows snap align.
–inlclude blend modes in addition to alpha.
–have zoom feature to, say 2x the image
–have “diff” tool that will do a pixel-by-pixel list of diff… well, there are tools for that already.

Anyway, good job

@Phillip, You’re reading my mind. The first feature I tried to add to this was using a blending mode of Difference so that you could see exactly the pixels that were different. Alas, an AIR app can’t do a blending mode of Diff onto the desktop or other applications. It just doesn’t see anything there. :( But if that’s ever an ability of AIR then it will be added pronto!

No one has suggested the snap align before. I’ll put that on the list of considerations.

I’m thinking of making the mouse-wheel act as a zoom-scroll in a future update.

Thanks for the great suggestions!
