AMFPHP video tutorial : Creating a Flex project to connect to AMFPHP and send/receive data
![]() |
Setting up a Flex project to send and receive data via AMFPHP This tutorial is about 11 1/2 minutes long. I’ll cover how to set your Flex project up with the services-config.xml file to enable communications with AMFPHP. |
The source files contain the services-config.xml file so that you can drop that into your AMFPHP Flex projects. And the additional command line argument that you need to add to your project is: -services “services-config.xml”.
Sorry I flew through the creating a user/permissions section. It isn’t something I do very often so I was a bit lost myself. I’ll do it better in the next version.
Please comment below if you have any input on how this video tutorial could be better. I’ll re-record this tutorial when I feel that I’ve gotten enough feedback to make some quality improvements.

Thanks for taking the time to do these Dan. Overall great … sure, you could go a little slower at times, though I prefer your pace to that found in many online training videos, and as long as the user can pause the video when needed. it’s fine! With that in mind, the only thing I found slightly annoying was when I had the video paused but the left-most code was offscreen - and that happens a fair bit due to the zooming-in you need to do. A slightly bigger video size would help in that respect. Thanks again.
@nwebb, thanks for the feedback. Pacing is something I think a lot about. Maybe I should slow down just a tad.
I’ve already completed a new video player and I’ll be recording a much larger portion of the screen 896×896 - with no panning.
I plan on re-recording those last few tutorials now that I have a bit of feedback.
Thank you Dan, thank you for this video indeed!
All the best!
