Where should the next international 360Flex conference be held?
July 25th, 2008 . by polygeek
I was going to have some lame poll about Science Fiction movies but John Wilker - jokingly - suggested that I poll to see where the next international 360Flex conference should be held. Vote over in the sidebar ->>>
NOTE: If you don’t have a vested interest in the poll - like if you live in the US - but you want to see the results then vote for Other.
The country choices are in order of visitors/month to polyGeek.com. Go ahead and comment if you have other suggestions. You might even want to suggest cities within your country of choice. I’m going to sell the results to Tom & John to pay for my next 360Flex conference. Oh, wait, it’s all public. Damn, foiled again! :-)

Don’t give those Aussies another conference - they can’t stop pretending to be the rulers of the southern hemisphere - LOL. You’re not, mates! :) And btw: one win in Rugby doesn’t make you understand the game :)
I’ve stated for nearly a year now, that the next international 360Flex conference should be (and this is a no brainer for us 360 conference people) in Belgium.
Preferably, somewhere nearby to this place.

Okay, maybe this should not be the next. Maybe one in China/Hong Kong/Asia are might be prudent. Give some love to Asia. Or even Philippines or something. Could cater to Asia/Oceania/Australia.
But seriously, the next European one should clearly be in Belgium. BEER IS GOOD THERE!
I actually am now leaning more toward the China conference followed by the Belgium. This will give me some time to save up some travel money. Then I can stay for two weeks in Belgium and bring my wife.
:-)
Canada…preferably Toronto.
You know it.
Toronto, the big TO. Enough of the flash stuff, get me some decent Flex action up here. :)
And Canadian beer rocks, eh?
Those Aussies got their game on over the weekend. I don’t think anyone can beat them now.
@Jason The Saj, good idea to recommend a venue at a brewery. You’re sure to get John’s attention with that. :)
Nah, bring it over to Japan. We ain’t got any flex/flash conferences for ex-pats!!! Plus y’all can stay at my place in Tokyo while enjoying some sake :)
I think wherever the next international 360Flex is held, it should be somewhere that can produce the same quality *and* quantity of speakers that make the US events so special.
Also, assuming the attendee numbers are profitable wherever it is held and that the 360 formula works properly in an international environment, I think it should be a place that doesn’t normally get such attention. This leads my choices away from Europe or Australasia (which have conferences like Flash on the Beach, WebDU, Web on the Piste) and towards countries such as India or Brasil - even if it means I have no possibility of attending as a result.
However for sheer attendee numbers and potential profitability I’d stick it somewhere on the Eurostar line, preferably London as they speak the same native language as they do in the US.
I’d love to attend a 360Flex in London. I lived there for about 3 months back in the last millennium. But I just checked on flights and the taxes are more than the flight itself. WTF? It would cost around $850.
How about something for us in the Mid-Atlantic or New England region - like New York City or Boston?
@Theo, I’m sitting here in the eBay lobby with the 360Flex crew and they just dropped the bomb that they will be having a conference in connecticut in 2017! Spread the news.
BTW, I think they’re joking around.
