[ Note: This was posted on April 1st ] It’s a great day here in RunPee land. Late last year I was contacted by three different groups who wanted to purchase RunPee.com. That’s great because it brought the final purchase price up a bit from what I would have been able to get had there been only one bidder.
I can’t say yet who purchased it but you’re going to laugh your ass off when you see the cross branding they’re going to do with the site and their product.
And I can’t say how much I was able to get. However it is safe to say that I won’t be running out to purchase a yacht anytime soon but then I don’t expect to be looking for work in the next forever or so months either. :)
Part of the purchase agreement is that I will remain in charge of the code on the site and get final say in design changes. The only thing that will change on the site in the short term will be the ads. Plus I’m in charge of training people who will be coming on board to do peetimes for movies. The fantastic thing about that is travel. We’re going to be expanding into a lots of countries. China is the first stop on the list.
What’s next?
That’s really hard to answer. I’m already working on a site for a word game that should be out in a few months. Eventually I plan for the site to become a hub with lots of different word based games. Beyond that I have a few ideas. Lets just say that I think RunPee is the worst idea of the bunch. I can’t wait to start working on the next big thing which I hope will debut at MAX this October.
Oh, and next April 1st I’m going to announce my plans to … you’ll have to wait to find out. :)

Thanks for the congratulations. And of course thanks for falling for the April Fools joke. But who knows, maybe it won't say an April Fools joke forever.
I should have made it a bit more unbelievable. I thought it was pretty unbelievable myself but I guess not everyone thinks like me.

Don't sell yourself short Dan! You may be surprized at what you can achieve and this time next year it may not be an April fools joke and you will have even more time to devote to exploring new exciting ventures.
