In no particular order:
- You don’t like free beer.
- You don’t like talking to other developers about geeky things like which framework is best or which episode of FireFly is the worst.
- If you already know everything there is no know about Flex and Actionscript and building for mobile and Phidgets and LiveCycle and Axiis, and Typography, and Greenthreading and Agile development, and Flash Analytics and Flex 4 and Enterprise Multi-user applications and Git and Flexible games and Cold Fusion 9 and . . . you get the point?
- If you don’t need to network with your peers – which means you already have the best job in the world and make more money than you know what to do with.
- If you couldn’t get anything of value from talking with team members on the Flex Framework team.
- If you have no interest in more cool swag.
- If you would rather sit at your desk and read the tweets from the 360|Flex attendees about what a great time they’re having than actually be there tweeting about the great time you’re having yourself.
I could go on and on. Comment below if you can think of other reasons not to go.

Wow! Those are all exactly me! I have an extra ticket for anyone that wants to go!
JUST KIDDING!
All such good reasons to go. Get involved, join the community, be a rockstar!
There's only one valid answr if you ask a flex dev why they're not attending 360Flex-"Because I'm lame"
Reason #2327 – My wife wouldn't let me skip the mortgage and utility payments so I'd have the money to go.
@Jonathan, Rockstars are born at 360|Flex.
@Matt, LOL. True 'dat. Glad I'm going because I need all the un-lameness I can get. :)
@Brandon, hey! We're trying to be supportive here. :)
There wasn't a bad episode of FireFly. I don't understand what you mean.
@John, You are absolutely correct. There were no bad episodes. Which makes the discussion, "What was the worst episode" so much fun. It's like picking the ugliest woman at a Miss America pageant.
yep – I'm not going for sure now. Thanks for helping me out :)
#1 I'm in another country :)
#2 I'm halfway through an intense 6 week contract.
Hard to beat either of those :)
It's a shame really, I'd even got as far as looking at airfares before I got this contract.Ah well :/
@Robin, I’m hoping there will be a 360|Flex in the UK sometime soon. I would love to attend that. Actually, I wouldn’t mind living in the UK for 3-4 months of the year. We’ll see.
1) you dont like free beer!
